PDF to Word

Turn a PDF into an editable DOCX document.

This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your file is never uploaded to our server.

What to expect from the outputThis is a text-faithful conversion, not a layout clone. Paragraphs, headings, lists and reading order are reconstructed from the PDF's text positions and font sizes, which works well for reports, articles and letters. Multi-column layouts, complex tables, text boxes and precise positioning will not survive intact. A scanned PDF contains no text at all — run OCR PDF on it first, then convert.

About this tool

Extract the text of a PDF into a real .docx file you can open and edit in Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice. Headings, paragraph breaks and basic emphasis are reconstructed from the layout.

How to use this tool

  1. Select the PDF you want to convert.
  2. Choose whether to keep page breaks and detect headings.
  3. Click Convert to Word and download the .docx.

Frequently asked questions

My converted document is empty. Why?
The PDF is almost certainly a scan — a picture of a page with no text layer. Run it through OCR PDF first to create the text, then convert.
Will the layout match the PDF exactly?
No, and no converter can guarantee that. PDF stores positioned glyphs, while Word stores flowing paragraphs — the two models do not map one to one. Expect accurate text and sensible structure rather than a pixel copy.
Are tables converted?
Simple grid-like tables are detected and rebuilt. Tables with merged cells, nested content or no ruling lines are usually flattened into plain paragraphs.
